Once again, it's time to recognize our Of The Month winners. October was another month of great things happening in #SIUCResLife
John Hughey, office assistant in the West Campus office, received regional recognition as the GLACURH Spotlight Of The Month for October. "...Mr. John Hughey has indeed proven to be one who will work as hard as is needed to make sure he is assisting others in the best way possible." Way to go, John!
Advisor Of The Month David Keys work with the Future Leaders in Student Affairs program at SIU. From the nominator and one of our future leaders in student affairs, Jes Carron: "I can only hope when I become a professional I will have the composure David holds as I step into new leadership positions and grow as an individual."
The RAs of Bailey Hall won the Educational Program Of The Month for their program "Life Lessons with Peter Griffin". Chance Baker and the other RAs of the all-male Bailey Hall used an episode of The Family Guy to teach their residents about sexual assault and provide information and campus resources.
Ashley Stegall earned Executive Board Member Of The Month recognition for her work as the National Communications Coordinator/Illinois Communications Coordinator for the Residence Hall Association. Ashley has spent a lot of time working with programs on campus as well as traveling to conferences, and we're grateful for the extensive time she commits to her role. Awesome job, Ashley!
Steven Yeagley was recognized this month for his work as the Residence Life Faculty/Staff Of The Month. Thanks for all you do to support staff, Steven. Your "concern for your supervisees' well-being", "ability to listen", and "skills to help each person on an individual level" make you a great asset to our department and the staff who are part of the team. Thanks, Steven!
Brian Gallagher, one of the two Schneider Hall Directors, was also recognized with a Campus Honorable Mention for Residence Life Faculty/Staff Of The Month.
Resident Assistant Of The Month Miranda Hayes does an outstanding job at University Hall. One of the residents of another floor (not Miranda's) was quoted as saying "Miranda is not my RA, but she is my RA". Thank you for your extending your commitment beyond the limits of your wing, Miranda!
Seth Moore of Mae Smith was also recognized with a Campus Honorable Mention for Resident Assistant Of The Month.
Schneider Hall held a month-long marathon of scary movies to provide residents with a fun alternative to going out on Thursday nights. Click the link to read more of their winning Social Program Of The Month nomination.
Schneider also took a Campus Honorable Mention for their social program, Fall Festival.
