Meet the RAs! - Ashley Wenson

SIU Residence Life has some outstanding Resident Assistants, and we want to show our appreciation by featuring them on our blog.   2. Where are you from? Mount Prospect, IL
  3. What’s your major? German studies and International studies
  4. What is your favorite dining hall food? Sesame chicken
  5. Where is your favorite place to go off-campus? Giant city trails
  6. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I see myself being successful within a German company working for their marketing department along with being married and having started a family.
  7. What do you like about being an RA? I like that through the smallest things, I can impact another person so easily.
  8. Favorite quote? I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing... Kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happiest are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles. - Audrey Hepburn
  9. Best study spot on campus? At the tables outside of the library. 
  10. How else are you involved at SIU (besides being an RA)? I am master of rituals for Alpha Kappa Psi which is a professional co-Ed business fraternity.

2.  Where are you from?  Bloomington, IL
3.  What’s your major?  Interior Design
4.  What is your favorite dining hall food?  Cheese Tortellini with Alfredo sauce
5.  Where is your favorite place to go off-campus?  Giant City
6.  Where do you see yourself in 10 years?  I can see myself working in an interior design firm and working with commercial businesses.
7.  What do you like about being an RA?  I like always having people around to talk to and being on campus.

9.  Best study spot on campus?  The top floor of the library
10.  How else are you involved at SIU (besides being an RA)?  I am a member of ASID, NRHH and I work as a Desk Assistant

2.  Where are you from?  Vernon Hills, IL 
3.  What’s your major?  Communication Disorders & Sciences 
4.  What is your favorite dining hall food?  It’s a tie between Tortellini Alfredo and Thai Noodles 
5.  Where is your favorite place to go off-campus?  Giant City State Park 
6.  Where do you see yourself in 10 years?  Living in the Midwest and working as a Speech Pathologist in an elementary school 
7.  What do you like about being an RA?  Meeting so many new people and having a community both on my floor and as a staff

9.  Best study spot on campus?  The seating area in front of the library, overlooking the fountain and enjoying a smoothie from the library café on a sunny day :)
10.  How else are you involved at SIU (besides being an RA)?  I’m president of SIU Hillel, Junior Advisor of AlphaLambda Delta Honor Society, and member of National Residence Hall Honorary. I also love going to group fitness classes at the Rec!

1.  What/s your name?  Daniel Ray
2.  Where are you from?  Arlington Heights, Illinois
3.  What's your major?  Automotive Technology
4.  What is your favorite dining hall food?  Pot roast night is by far the best thing they offer.
5.  Where is your favorite place to go off-campus?  Giant City State Park
6.  Where do you see yourself in 10 years?  I can see myself either working in a local shop or starting my own shop.
7.  What do you like about being an RA?  getting to meet other people who i would not normally meet
8.  Favorite quote?  Psalms 119:133  "keep steady my steps according to your promise and let no iniquity get dominion over me."
9.  Best study spot on campus?  lower level of Trueblood in the diner-style tables
10.  How else are you involved at SIU (besides being an RA)?  i am involved at Vine Church. I go to a small group and help set up the church for Sunday services
