Meet the RAs! - Lauren Osterbrock

SIU Residence Life has some great things going on, and we want to showcase some of our proud moments on our blog. We also hope people considering working in RA, graduate assistant, or full-time positions with our department will take a minute to learn more about the things we are doing. As we recruit new Resident Assistants for the 2014-2015 year, we wanted to introduce a few of the talented individuals currently on our team. This profile features Lauren Osterbrock, RA in Neely Hall.

1. What's your name? Lauren Osterbrock 

2. Where are you from? Bloomington, Illinois

3. What's your major? Biological Medicine/Physical Therapy

4. What is the best program or event you've been to on campus? Rocky Horror Picture Show

5. What was the last book you read for fun? S by J. J. Abrams

6. What is your favorite thing about being an RA? Meeting all the residents and helping them with the transition into college life

7. How else are you involved at SIU? I am a member of the Saluki Science Ambassadors, Golden Key and work at the Achieve Program

8. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? I would like to own some property to build a house, have a big family and be working at a leading children's hospital as the head pediatric physical therapist.

9. What is your favorite quote? "There is power in looking silly and not caring that you do" - Amy Poehler

10. What do you do to unwind when you're feeling stressed? The Rec Center has been a safe haven for me and always offers something to do to unwind after a stressful day!
